Fire Canine Program

Since 1994, Apex personnel have been at the forefront of the training and widespread application of fire canines. Currently, Apex is responsible for providing all but one fire canine available to civil fire investigators in the state of Texas. These amazing tools are trained to detect gasoline, diesel, kerosene, lighter fluid and camp fuel. All Apex canines are trained through the “play reward” method to respond passively by sitting or lying down and placing their nose in the location of the odor. Apex provides fire canine searches for independent origin and cause firms as well as for Harris County, the third most populous county in the United States.
